Not sure if there's a separate genre for "female spy story," but seems like there should be, as this falls neatly into the same category as Karen Cleveland's Need to Know and Chris Pavone's The Expats. Unfortunately, I didn't really like either of those stories for the same reason I DNF (quit at page 175) this one - I actually enjoy female protagonists, but all three of these books feature so-called intelligence professionals who are just so DUMB...why can't a female spy be as professional or ev

A DC-based espionage thriller by an author who was once a CIA analyst. That was enough to hook me. As expected, the story is well cooked in realistic details about how the agency and congress work, including the tensions between them. Soon the action moves to Tbilisi, Georgia and thereafter switches between the two locations.
