What Members Thought

I'd give it 3.5 stars, but that's not an option. This quick thriller has some nice ups and downs, but its origin as a screenplay is clear in its brevity. That brevity did not allow for the wonderful character insights and deeply moving prose Greene is best at. It was a good tale, and the film is supposed to be just as good or better. But it's another Greene novella accomplished, and more insight into the author. Check.

The Third Man, by Graham Greene - review.
I’ve come to this late given its reputation as the mere servant to the film, one of the all-time movie greats. Now I know what the Graham Greene hubbub is all about. It is well-founded. I listened to the audiobook version with Martin Jarvis's exceptional voice acting.
