What Members Thought
Absolutely gripping non-fiction, as taut as John Le Carre, and begging to be made into a film or television series. One of those books that gets better the deeper you get into it. Narrative non-fiction at its finest. Bravo.
This book on account does read like one of the best pieces of fiction ever. But like they say, reality can be stranger than fiction. Ben Macintyre has done a decent job of summarising the contribution of this brilliant person Eddie Chapman. With such a story, I would expect Macintyre to narrate the details of the mission, the implications and get the grips on a fabulous story. To me, Macintyre failed in doing so.
