What Members Thought
If you like spy novels, you'll really enjoy this one. It has everything: great writing, a tricky story, good tradecraft, and a satisfying ending. The plot moved along at a good clip and the characters were developed well enough- I particularly liked the fact that the resolution of the story wasn't dependent upon a Rambo-type figure, just great thinking and operational excellence. This was my first C. Cumming read. While I liked the characters development and the writing, I thought the plot was a bit far fetched. So I was going from 'nah, I don't believe this' to 'oh, this is interesting' and back. It's an easy read, but a bit draggy and on the lighter side of suspenseful for a spy thriller-- I think.
Will I read more of Cumming? Yes, I will give him another try. But if the next 2 books are in the same drift, I'll stop there. ...more
