What Members Thought
Ambler was the real deal and Dimitrios is a joy to read. Although told from the point of view of Latimer, every page of the novel is dominated with the mystery of Dimitrios. Like Gatsby, the identity of Dimitrios is central to everything that happens, even though he spends very little time onstage. This is first-rate interwar noir-ish espionage.
