Rather slow,plodding character study. I feel like JLC was hedging his bets with this particular book as it seemed he he was reaching to a more "novel-like" approach but just fell short and too little of the Spy genre to fit his usual oeuvre. the book had it's thrilling moments but they were not enough to compel the story with his usual grace. ...more
