I'm cycling back through some of my favorite le Carre novels and, at least to me, 'The Spy Who Came In from the Cold' is the one that started it all for this great author. It also happens to be the rare book whose film version was equally excellent.

A classic in every sense.JLC infuses Leamas with so much character and self-loathing he practically jumps off the page.
