Ridiculous writing. This plot takes 90% of the book to develop and all ends on the last few chapters. The ending is entirely founded on luck and assumptions rather concrete evidence or espionage work. It also leaves multiple characters and stories just hanging in the unknown. I never fully understood why John King had to travel back to Berlin, fake his death and sneak back to Britain to establish his alias. What becomes of his German girlfriend and child?
