I plan to see the movie next week so decided to read it before going to the movies. I have read several other Le Carré novels which feature George Smiley... Looking Glass War, Murder of Quality, etc...
Tinker starts off rather slow, but as the momentum builds, so does the suspense... A dryly written, slow evolving story of espionage.
A third of the way through, my heart sank in disappointment because I'd been looking forward to reading this book for years. Finding a really nice leatherbound edition by Franklin library, I was keen to collect the rest of the series but disappointed that I'd likely not be continuing on. Then le Carré picked things up.
