Didn't remember having read this before, but I had a strong sense of déjà lu as I got into it, so apparently I did at some point back in the 80's.
Exciting story, very well-written, and with a strong sense of time and place - Follett obviously did his homework. While the ending was never in doubt, Follett did a good job balancing mystery and history, and now I'll do some Wiki-work to find out just how close to the facts he s ...more
