Getting into The Lord of the Rings is not easy. Tolkien has been criticized for being overly descriptive and for shoving world building down your throat. I actually had to give Fellowship like 5 shots before I finally learned to love it. In a weird way, I started to like the very things that keep people away from this series (the worldbuilding and description), because that's what these books do best, in my opinion.
