JRR Tolkien is one of the greatest fantasy writers of all time and he proved this by dedicating his life to it. He used personal experiances during the war, his friendships and love and creativity and imagery within his work to bring it to life. This has always been one of my favorite books and along with The Hobbit is one of the books that introduced me to the wonderful world of fantasy writing. Tolkien's world is immersive and his descriptions of the history of Middle Earth are always interesting. I am on somewhere around my 25th reading of this book and still find something new every time I read it.
