Shelves: sky-high-eye-opener-mind-blower

Hey guys, so I just finished Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. Right off the bat most people would be turned away due to the fact that it is written like a script, thus meaning hardly any description(funny i go from a book with too much detail to one with barely any), hard to follow plot lines, and superficial dialogue. Even I frowned upon the lack of details, relying practically just on my imagination. However, luckily ive read scripts and so I easily read it in a like manner to a normal novel Hey guys, so I just finished Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. Even I frowned upon the lack of details, relying practically just on my imagination. However, luckily ive read scripts and so I easily read it in a like manner to a normal novel. Notwithstanding that it certainly was interesting to see this version of the Wizarding World; many called merely popular published fan fiction. Granted, i do believe that some of the characters personalities shine through the text, especially Albus Potter, ugh, dont even get my started on that self centered, bratty, tempered child who can barely bring himself to care about other people's problems. Thankfully he gets a tiny bit better towards the end of the play. No wonder why he ended up in the house he did. (not gonna say it due to spoiler, goodness I know I accidentally read one too many spoilers in regards to this book). All I can say is that i was definitely intrigued to see how it would play out. Sadly, do to the lack of creativity, the writers didnt bother with that, for they aged the boys like 5 years in like five pages, absolutely nuts. Another aspect Im not particularly fond of about scripts is that sometimes there is no rhyme nor rhythm to the plot, it's all garbled and scattered about the scenes, hard to make connections throughout the story. Moving on, one thing I did love about this is that it gleamed fans the opportunity to revel in the resurrection of some friendly faces. And some foes sadly, *coughs* Umbridge. There, consider yourself warned. Also, I enjoyed how the writers were able to weave some humor into the text so it wasn't totally dry. Now, I just have to say, in my opinion, the true shining characters of the story were the Malfoys, Scorpius mostly. He definitely is a king in my eyes for more reasons than one. Shame I cannot disclose these reasons for sake of spoilers, sorry! It is for your own good peeps. Alright, I think that about covered everything.... any questions? ...more
