What Members Thought
Not my usual choice of book to read but 1- it's for a book club, 2- it's Olympics on TV coming up and 3 - I know (knew) nothing about rowing. So glad I read this book! Learned quite a bit and also enjoyed the movie and a PBS special about The Boys of '36. Felt the book got a little bogged down at times but it still did not change my rating.

The historical content made this book interesting. But it is also loaded down with mundane, wordy paragraphs that make it slow moving and slow reading.
Excellent book, I would recommend to everyone.
The protagonists story was compelling, not as interested in technical info about the boats.
