What Members Thought

I won’t go into the plot or characters because it’s been done by many people more able to describe and comment better than I.
This is a difficult novel for me to rate.
Didn’t like: slow pace; going back and forth in time and people – why? For what purpose? I didn’t think it enhanced the story at all. Was it too long because of the ‘going back and forth’? I got an audio version from the library so perhaps this would have been better read?

Good book, worth the time, 500 pages. My friends were disappointed with the ending but I thought it was believable.

It's amazing how so authors write about the historical tragedy. This book is a very sensitive and well written account of this era.

I will confess to being the only person to be bored reading this book I just could not get into it. I thought Sarah's Key and The Nightingale covered this period in a much more interesting way
