I'm really digging these books. They're gritty and lovely and I thoroughly enjoy Vic's voice.
Did not see the twist in the story.
I'm also enjoying how much Jacob cares about Vic (but Vic is somewhat oblivious to that). ...more

Another amazing book in this series. The truth is that I'm up to like book seven, but haven't had time to review them all yet.
I'm impressed that JCP has managed to make an extrovert and an introvert, put them together as a couple, and make it work really well. Also, Vic is one of the only characters I've ever found in literature who's as introverted as I am, and not written as a shy, sad, wallflower. He doesn't want to be around people, he's got reasons why, and it works for him. Love Vic, flaws ...more

It's interesting listening to these, because they were written in a certain time...the first edition was in 2006 and the second in 2008... and it's obvious. Maps and flip phones and TVs that aren't flat panels. Also the dread in Vic about being seen as gay (even though he's gay). Some language we wouldn't use now.
That aside, they hold up reasonably well, and Gomez Pugh does a wonderful job at narrating these.

So I absolutely fall into the adoring Vic and Jacob category! This is a great continuation of book one and I can’t wait to read more of this series. I love the alternate reality Ms. Price has created here, it’s one of the more interesting takes on psychic abilities or seeing ghosts I’ve ever read.
Vic’s life is continuing on track despite the upheaval of his last case. He’s got a new partner who seems rather bland all things considered. Things with Jacob are going well even if they hadn’t really ...more

3.75-the story's even better but the relationship isn't clicking with me :( I wonder how it's going to progress :)
