One True Thing (One Thing, #2) in Read with Pride Northwest

While I didn't like this story as much as I did the first one (I have a soft spot for those characters dealing with social anxiety/OCD problems) this is still a very sweet story. A few little issues pop up between these characters, but none of the drama is drug out and doesn't bog down the story. Dusty and Ash face the problems head on and they're dealt with quickly. I liked both characters in a kind of, oh aren't they sweet sort of way. I didn't find myself falling in love with either of them though. Dusty's need to have someone in his life that's just for him and isn't part of his friendship with Eric and Rue is totally understandable. It's very clear from the start of this story that he's ready for a "grown up" life. The misunderstanding with the twins was handled really well I felt like to. Things didn't end up going too far with Archer before the reveal was made. Ash also is a really great guy struggling to deal with the hand the world has dealt him. This story manages to present the issues these two are dealing with in a fairly realistic manner if a little whitewashed in that their reactions are a little too perfect. Believable, but any anger/hurt is quickly smoothed over and the perfect happy couple is still soldiering on.

Archer on the other hand is just about as bad as can be. I did find it hard to believe he had so little caring for his brother that he'd put him in that situation and not give a shit. I wanted to smack him upside the head every time he was on the page. *grumble...douchebag...grumble*

All in all this was really cute and sweet. Dusty and Ash are adorable as a couple and because of the way they've handled the troubles that Archer put them into you know they'll be good for the long haul. I loved seeing Rue and Eric settling into their new life in California and knowing that despite Eric's issues they're making it work. I would love to see a story down the line about Josh. I would love to see him getting out of the lifestyle that makes him so unhappy and he seemed like such a fun character in his little appearances. I don't know that Archer's redeemable, but if he is I think I could be dragged into reading his story. But he'd have an awful lot of forgiveness begging to do to make me like him at this point. ;) ...more

I loved this one, too. So sweet and good. Dusty is such a pure soul, I just ADORE him!! And, Asher! Gah! So perfect for Dusty. And so in love. This book has a great mix of drama, sass, sexiness, and warm fuzzies. ;) A fabulous read!!

I was surprised by how the story played out the 'twin brother' mix-up trope. Asher and Dusty have to deal with the usual but once they find each other they are completely committed. I wanted to throttle Asher's brother and shake Asher for keeping himself in a bad situation because of Archer. The reconciliation Dusty has with his own sibling is a bonus.
