Mostly, I bought this book because Rick Riordan is one of my favorite writers, I have read the whole Percy Jackson series over and over again without getting tired of it. Also I have read the two existing books of The heroes of Olympus like 5 times each, and I am impatiently waiting for The Mark of Athena to come out this fall(This was fall of 2012, which hadn't already happened when I wrote the review). Anyway, I bought this book because I like Riordan's writing, because I am currently out of books to read and because the soft cover edition was really cheap. Actually, when I showed to my mom at the store asking if she could buy it for me she looked at the cover and said "Oh yes yes, one of Riordan's books!" Before reading it, I didn't have any freaking idea about what was the book about, I mean, I like Egyptian culture (Their food is awesome! There are very good vegetarian options in Egyptian cuisine), but honestly I don't know anything about it, much less mythology, neither have I been very interested in it before. I can say NOW I am...

I am amazed by Riordan's writing, like really. All of his books are so well written and he never seems to run out of creativity, and I mean, publishing two books a year is a great accomplishment. In The Red Pyramid(as in his other books) I really get the feeling I am reading something a teenager wrote, I mean, the expressions he uses and the way of 'acting' of the characters is portraying them perfectly! This book isn't one of the I-start-getting-interested-in-it-by-page-50 books, I was already into it like since page two or three. I can say that the books I read are always about things I like, but this time I didn't have any idea of what the hell this book was about, and I can say it's one of the most well written, interesting, creative, chicken-skinning books I have ever read. If I had to give a score from 0-5 to this book, it would be a 5. Definitely.

I think this plot is really awesome, especially with Riordan's creativity and... I don't really know how to describe it... passion may be the word? Really, he seems be in the characters' role.

Okay, the whole review(which I bet is really bad, by the way. Sorry, it's my first) I have been just saying how good the book it is, and now it's time for the flaws. The only thing I didn't like from the book was the fact that events narrated were well, so well narrated as if Sadie and Carter were narrating them on the moment, I mean, the narration was in past tense, and there is no way someone could remember and narrate that many details. But I guess without those details the book would have been half as amazing.
