Oscar is an overweight boy from New Jersey with a Dominican background. He is desperate to find love, but his nerdiness and weight always get in the way of him finding the right girl. What was it like to be fat and depressed? Oscar Wao was a fat and depressed kid that could not find a girlfriend. He was considered a "hero" only because he ended up falling in love with someone that had a marine boyfriend. This book really told me alot about how everyone has a special someone for them in life. I would recommend this book to EVERYONE because it is a great read. The author Junot Diaz really utilizes language in order to catch the readers attention. ...more
