Oh, the repetitiousness! There's this unnecessarily close examination about the science behind mutated genes and squiggling sperm and egg and the whole biology lecture that boys and girls are given once they've reached puberty - it wouldn't have been so bad if it wasn't so awkward. Like, why are you telling me about how babies are made? If I'm reading this book, I think I already know how! Middlesex was a pretty long book.it was about these three generation of the Stephanides family's scandalous history. i found some of the reading disturbing, and i didnt like how Eugenides was so details about things. ...more
