I read this book late 2008.This was when I was learning about satire. I think that this book is a perfect example of how every dynasty rises, has its peak, and falls. At first, the animals had a pretty strong society based on the seven Commandments which were ruled that every animal of that society had to follow. For example, one of the commandments was:” No animal shall wear clothes. This commandment seemed kind of pointless when I first heard it, but I soon realized that the animals did not wa ...more

Animals farm is about communism, however it is applied to a different principle. Instead of communism being asserted upon human beings it is used on animals. I liked this book because the author George Orwell does a fascinating job in using certain animals as motifs that resemble historical communist leaders from the past, such as Hitler. I also found this to be humorous because some animals would act just like humans. George Orwell dislikes communism according to this novel, because he always ...more

George Orwell's allegory for the Russian Revolution follows a farm full of animals. The animals of Manor Farm decide to revolt against the farmer that "takes advantage of them". Every animal of the farm has a representative in the real life Russian Revolution. Major the boar representing Lenin, Mollie representing the high class, and other representing the rest of those involved in the revolution. The more that you know about the Russian Revolution, the more that you learn to appreciate Orwell's ...more

This book is basically about the animal society competing with man. The animals in the farm is tired being pushed around by their owner, so they take a stand very independently and rebel. All the animals ganged up and chased him out. They soon started to learn how to read and write, to keep their government balanced. They wanted to prove the word that they can govern their own utopia. But one animal said that they had a dream that would be able to succeed, but he died. Each animal wanted a part ...more

OH MY Gosh! I really love this book, this book was funny, informative, and sad all in one. Once again I love book that make me feel more than one emotion. I like the way the book related back to history with animals. The animals personalities literally made me think my pet can talk. At first I thought the book was trying to give the message of animal cruelty, but when I read more it really related to Communism a form a government I understood the book more and I related to it on my global regent ...more

I felt that George Orwell cleverly wrote the story and the characters were well thought of. The colloquial dialogue appeals to any reader because it doesn't make it difficult to understand what is going on. Since this is a historical fiction novel, I already knew the story line and felt that it was bland because I already knew what was going to happen. But for those of you who love history, I'm sure you would enjoy this book more than I did. ...more

Animal Farm is a classic novel about animals taking over the farmland by themselves. Their first slogan is "All Animals are equal" but as the pigs are divided from the rest of the animals because they are much smarter than them then the slogan slowly changes as the pig gets more rights. The story's plot reprents how once the farm used to be Utopia and then it slowly becomes dystopia,it also represents human characteristics in an analogy of animal instincts during the Russian Revolution. ...more

I LOVE this book so much for many reasons. One is because the author used animals to represent people that lived during the Russian Revolution. i find that very clever and amazing. I learned that greed can lead to a tragic fall. This is because one the the characters wanted so much power that he ended up loosing it all. I would highly recommend this book to anyone that wants to learn the perspective of the Russian Revolution.

This was such a funny book. I liked the way the author uses farm animals such as pigs, sheep, dogs and the idea of corruption to define everything that was going when Stalin and his totalitarian government. I found this book very helpful which help fresh my memory of what we had been studying in global. The characters and animal correctly match out to all the dictators and followers of Stalin.

This book is an example of communism. The story is set on a farm where the animals rule over the area and everyone is equal. As the farm grows the pigs become the leaders of the farm and make things the way that best suits them. By the end of the story the pigs true colors become revealed to the farm.

This book is a great read by Gorge Orwell. Im going to have to say if you are going to read this book and get the true meaning of it. You will have to know your history. This book tells a story aout the Russian Revolution from the animals point of view. Many of the points made in this book will be abstract. Meaning you really have to dig deep in order to really understand. That makes it an even better book, nothing is easy to understand. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys o ...more

This book was one of my favorites because of the subjects it is based on. This book is about the Russian Revolution which was a very interesting period in time. I liked it because the author was able to relate a government to animals living on a farm. I never thought a government could be used with different creatures.

When I read this book again, I started to understand more of the situations and what had happened to the animals on the farm. I noticed more hypocritical ideas of Napolean and the figurative language use. I learned that the animals in the book represented real people in the past like the Soviet Union and America. I still don't understand what happened to Snowball but the book was a fun to re-read again. -- This was a very interesting book to read. You can totally compare the animals to the human ...more

Animal Farm is a hilarious story that, once read, is unforgettable. Many literary devices are used in the story of animals who take over a farm. The obvious one is personification, but others include similes, metaphors, symbolism, and hyperboles. The story taps into the imagination and gives all things "adult-like" (such as running the government, running a nation, or in this case a farm, ect.) a child-like air by using animals. The theme, wisdom is better than power, is not exactly obvious, but ...more

This book has characters that were based off of World War 2. Its about a farm that the animals are treated badly by the farmer and one day the animals make the farmer run away. In other parts of the book the farmer comes back and tries to get his farm back and he fails. This is a good book and i recommend that you read it.
