I LOVED THIS BOOK!!! This book is sad at times, but it's very real because the stuff that happens in this book happens in real life. The book talks about things like rape and adoption. One of the reasons that makes this book so great is the loyalty and courage of a person. One of the reasons I loved this book was because it was full of irony and you never see it coming. There is a twist in everything. ...more

This was a great book about the hardships that Amir faces through his life. All he wanted was for Baba to love him and be his favorite, but he felt ignored and unwanted. He always found himself trying to prove himself to Baba, and the one time he did, he felt great about it.

Amir was always very critical of himself. He always blamed himself for everything. When he was born, he felt like a burden to Baba, he has cost him his wife. All Baba wanted from Amir is to show him that he could be a man.

This was one of the best books that i have ever read. This book is about Amir a young man that has gone through life feeling like a failure. This book starts off with a young Amir and Hassan playing in the trees not knowing that what they were doing were wrong. In those times there was no difference to these to as young men but as they grew up they were mixed in with societies asspects. Hassan was a Hazara considered lower than Amir who was consider a higher class and that was why Hassan was the ...more

Dear Khaled Hosseini
Your story was very moving. It had many issues as well as plots. There were many different emotions in the book, sometimes you just wanted to scream at the characters and other times you wanted to cry in sympathy. There were even times when you smiled or gasped because of good deeds or happy events. Some events were so unfortunate as well as unexpected. The title of the book and the main character was hard to figure out at times. Since the tile was “The Kite Runner” and the

I read this again in December 2010. I was looking back at the write up I wrote down there. Wow! First of all , MY WRITING HAS CHANGED A LOT! I think I was way more concise before. Anyway , reading this for a second time gave me new perspectives of this book. Before I only saw the main themes, but reading it a second time showed me much more. I saw the history behind it. I saw the small details, like why Hassan left, like how Baba changed so much when he came to America. How Amir was so messed up ...more

After re-reading my most favorite book, “The Kite Runner” by Khaled Hosseini, I grasped the themes and the literary devices deeper than the first time I had read this book. Just like before, I wept again during certain scenes inflicted throughout the story. Because I already knew that Amir was not planning to rescue Hassan from the rape incident, I was not shocked. However my heart began to throb because of the depression Hassan hit after the rape incident, not because he was raped, but because ...more

I like this book very much, I think it is a great book. There are many different kinds of conflicts. There are father/son relationship, how their relationship change over time. When I just started reading the first few chapers of the book, I found out that the relationship between Amir and his father was not that good. I knew that Amir's father didn't like him, but I didn't know why. But after I read more, I found out that I was wrong. When Baba and Amir immigrated to the America, their relation ...more

This is book is one of my favourite books ever. In the beginning it is very hard and later on you just want to read and see what happens next. This book shows betrayal between brothers. In their world, Hassan nor Amir never knew they were siblings until later on that Hassan died when he had a child. Amir's dad was really rich and Hassan never knew Amir shared the same dad. Hassan got raped by Assef while Amir stood there on the day that day Amir was able to satisfy his dad. Hassan had always been ...more

This was a really inspiring book. This book shows what a father and son can go through together. One of the best examples of father son relationships was when Sohrab runs away from the hotel and Amir goes out and finds him. Amir finds him by the chapel looking at it. Amir sits down next to him and talks to comfort him and make him forget about all the bad things he did.

To be honest I didn't think that I was going to like this book. Historical ficitions aren't usually the books that I pick up but this, this one was an acception. I was hooked the moment i opened the book. There were true cathartic moments in this book because I was literally yelling at the book the moment Amir saw Hassan getting raped. After reading that part i was determined to figure this whole book out. I always had a feeling that Baba(Amir's father) was hiding something with his subtile hin ...more

Many people thought that this novel was boring and or it "wasn't that good enough." In my opinion I thought this book was GREAT. I love the fact that Hosseini makes such a great description about every settings. He really has a way to pull readers' hearts with just words. You can imagine how the characters feel too. This book shows many brother love and redemptions for each other. Amir and Hassan has lived their live's all through lies. However, only one character will know that. Also, at the en ...more

This was a great story. I loved the way this book ended. After all the bad things that hppened it still turned out good. There were many deaths and disturbing seens but thats what i liked most about the book. my favorite part was when hassan's son shoots the sling shot at assefs eye, fullfilling his father's threat. I think assef finally got what he deserved. ...more

The "Kite Runner" was a great book it was a well written book with a lot of suspense in it. The Kite was about Hassan and Amir two boys growing up in Afghanistan. Hassan's father is a servant to Amir's father, and Hassan is a Sh'ia Muslim, a Hazara. And everyday he would be disrespected by some of the boys in the neighborhood. The turning point of this story was when Hassan got raped that changed everyones life. The people of the Talbian came to Afghanistan and took Amir's family to US. Amir cam ...more

The book Kite Runner is amazing. I always thought this book was very entertaining. the dramtic sences by the main character Amir, and his half brother Hassan, tthurns this book uspide down. it gave a thrill to its readers, especially me. I wish i can see the movie, but i heared it wasn't as good as the book. Anyways i'm very delighted by Khaled Hosseini work and wouldn't mind wanting to read his other famous book, A Thousand Splendid Suns. i hope just as much the suspense, love, betralyal, and ...more

I saw the movie last week. It is a great movie. It helps me a lot to understand the book. Now I’m on Page 84. Amir has the holiday and he is going to Jalalabad with his father, Rahim khan and some family members. Amir feels car sickness on the road and he threw up on his cousin’s dress. He feels that is the most terrible moment in his life and that makes him think about the Hassan.

And about the Hassan
