Thoughts after rereading:
I finished this around 2am and I just sat there crying. I've cried so many times during this book I've lost count. Things I didn't really react to the first time just hit me like a racing car and it hurt so much. The element of surprise from the plot twist obviously was not something I experienced again (and is part of what made me love this book so much the first time), but I discovered that didn't really Read for the first time: March 29th 2013

This book is fantastic, and I'll always stick to the fact that this is one of my favorite books of all time and definitely Cassandra Clare's best book so far. It was so emotional and I couldn't read a single page in public because I was scared I'd break down (hehe). I also cared so much more about all the characters this time. I'm not sure if I think this book was better this time around, but it certainly wasn't worse. I just think it's really difficult for a book to get better when it was already perfect the first time around. But I loved rereading this trilogy and I hope I'll be able to do it again in one or a couple of years, because this deserves to be loved forever and to never be forgotten or neglected.

Old Review:
Oh man, this book made me cry! A lot. Before I read this book I didn't love TID as much as TMI, but after this I've changed my mind. I feel for these characters a lot more than the ones in TMI, but of course I love them too! This must be the best book Cassandra Clare has written, it's so well done!
The prologue was terrifyring with the Starkweather family, and then it was beautiful and funny with Will and Jem as kids. Then the whole thing about the wedding and Benedict Lightwood becoming a demon worm, it's just awesome and so well described. You really get the feeling that you're actually there with them.
When Jem got worse and he had his "last" talk with Will I cried. I don't usually cry when I read books, but Cassandra Clare manages to force the tears out of me... There are so many beautiful quotes in her books, especially in Clockwork Princess. The bond between Jem and Will seems much stronger and lovable than the one between Jace and Alec, and now when Jem is dying... it's just to much for me! *sobs* And when Will went after Tessa as Jem asked him I was just like NO, DON'T GO PLEASE, JEM NEEDS YOU! HE'S GONNA DIE! But of course nobody listens to me, so...
When the Will could feel the Parabatai bond break... It was just so sad and heartbreaking! I could feel his pain too, and it was just... words fail me...
And let's just talk about the wonderful man Magnus Bane! I smiled like I've never smiled before when he supported Henry with his portal and helped him build it, and the fact that Henry made Magnus like and wear glitter was also wonderful.
And when I discovered Brother Zachariah is Jem I didn't know what to feel. I was so happy and relieved that Jem was not dead, because oh my do I love that boy and I truly believed he had died! But at the same time that meant Will was going to die... When Jem came to Tessa and Will to break his bond with them forever my heart broke again. It was so sad, SO SAD! I just cried over the fact that he never got married to Tessa, just because of Mortmain and his stupid Automatons.
But the most horrible and beautiful part of the book was the epilogue! When Tessa told the story about her life with Will tears rolled down my cheeks again, because that was honestly one of the most heart wrenching things I've ever read. How Magnus helped Tessa when she screamed in her sleep after Will's death... And I hate the fact that Cassandra Clare actually wrote that he died at the same time I loved it, because then he really was dead! If she hadn't done that, it might have felt like some part of Will still lived, but no... So that was probably the most tragic part of the book.
AND THEN we get to see that Jem has been cured and is now a real person again. I was really surprised and had not expected that at all, I didn't even think it was possible. And then it hit me that Will never got to see his parabatai like that again, he never got his true friend back. It should've been Will who found the cure! That made me cry again... But don't get me wrong I'm stoked about the fact that Jem and Tessa can be together now again, but at the same time... WILL!!
Well, now this series is over and it couldn't have ended better. We knew all the time that one of our two favorite boys would die, so Cassie did the unexpected and killed Will instead of Jem, and I love her for surprising us!
Clockwork princess is probably my favorite book of all time. No other book has given me all the feelings I got from reading this, and I love it! I still can't believe this is over... Our adventure has come to an end... Well lucky us we can re-read these books as many time as we want to, and trust me, my books won't be so nice looking for long!
