Pounded in the butt by queer erasure and the concept of a sanitised, digestible mainstream queer narrative.
Loooved the vast majority of this and liked it slightly more than Camp Damascus. Misha was a compelling main character and the recollections of his hometown trauma (especially the story about the chocolate box and the barn) really connected with me emotionally. Seeing how those stories manifested in Misha's personality as well as his body of work was my absolute favourite part of this.
