Maybe it was because I listened to this one on audio, and maybe I missed it, but just getting locked in a room with books as a teenager, how does that cause Joe to be who he is? How'd he end up such a psychopath? I thought he was your typical stalker. I'm watching the Netflix series now, hoping it would be different. Expected the story to be different. Either way there was no depth to the characters.
