Lisa Tawn Bergren is one of those authors that writes across several genres and she is good at it as well. I initially discovered her writing in Christian Historical Fiction and while I love her Non Fiction and Children's Books, her Christian Historical Fiction enters my dreams at night. Glamorous Illusions is the first in her new Grand Tour Series and it is one to make you think. Starting on the fields of Montana and coming to a close in a mansion of Paris with a promise of more to come in the

As usual, flawless writing from Lisa Bergren. You'll travel from Montana to England and Paris, from a dirt poor farm to an elegant estate, and meet characters rich and poor that you'll love and hate.
If you've never heard of a Grand Tour, then you might want to pick up this tale. Grand Tours were quite the rage for the elite during the late 1800's and into the early 1900's. This book, first in a trilogy, gives you an up close and personal glimpse into one of these tours.

"Glamorous Illusions" (Grand Tour Series, #1) by Lisa Tawn Bergren was an excellently written historical fiction. The story first takes place in Montana where the main character, Cora, returns to the family farm to find that all is not well with her parents. Then, enters Wallace Kenningston, a stranger to Cora, who will change her life in more ways than one. Mr. Kenningston gives Cora the opportunity to help her parents and herself by going on the Grand Tour of Europe with his children and the c

Glamorous Illusions was a really nice read. The main character, Cora, is definitely one you can cheer on to the end. It was fairly predictable and had a bit of intrigue to segue into book 2. Thank you, David Cook Publications, for picking me for a first read. It was a nice surprise to receive all three books in the series!
