It is the spring of 1943. With a wedding and a cross-country move, Millie’s world is about to change forever.

If only her past could change with it.

Soon after the break of day, Bump will become Millie’s husband. And then, if all goes as planned, they will leave the rain-soaked fields of Mississippi and head for the wilds of the Colorado Rockies.

As Millie tries to forget a dark secret, she hasn't yet realized how drastically those past experiences will impact the coming days.

For most of Millie’s

When Mountains Move is the first book I have read by Julie Cantrell, although this is the second in the series. I was blessed to be sent both by David C Cook and will be reading Into the Free shortly. That said, the second book did stand on its own, although I am sure once reading the first one, will add even more to the story.

Millie and her new husband move to the Colorado Rockies, from Mississippi, leaving behind all that she knows, and the people she loves as well as a deep, dark secret...or

I received a copy of this novel as a First Reads giveaway and the publisher also kindly provided a copy of Into the Free (Into the Free #1) by Julie Cantrell . This was a wonderful conclusion to Millie's story. I was left feeling slight bereft when I finished the first book, but Julie Cantrell tied things up with the same heart-wrenching emotion and poignancy in this novel. She will definitely be added to my "must-read" author's list.

Embarking on a new phase in her journey, after living through more hardship and heartache than any one perso

When Mountains Move is the sequel to Into the Free and although I hadn’t read it first, it had no negative impact on this story.
Julie Cantrell has such giftedness in transporting the reader back into the time and setting of the story. Her writing style is beautiful and has made her a favorite author of mine since The Feathered Bone.
At times, I’d forget Millie was only a teenager even while she was a wife and mother. Her attitude at times, was lightyears ahead of where I’d see a girl her age. Y

When Mountains Move
By: Julie Cantrell

Really liked the book. This the second book after “Into the Free”. What a abusive life Millie had. She gets married to a rodeo vet. Will their relationship make it with the secrets she keeps. When the secret comes out can there be forgiveness? The book has lots to deal with faith, hope and love. I would rate these books as 5 star. Wonder will their be a third one. Great writing Julie.

Like a glass of cool water on a hot summer's day this book will refresh your mind, body and soul. Julie Cantrell is a master storyteller. She creates characters with beauty and real depth. I have come to feel that Millie is a real person, a dear friend. Very few books have characters that are so lovable and so tragically flawed. Such a great read! I love that it is an amazing story and on a deeper level it makes me examine the way I see the world. Well done again!! ...more
