If you like historical fiction, it’s pretty good. Accurate: somewhat. In Golden’s defense, some of the inaccuracies, like mizuage being in the geiko & geisha world is difficult to say with some accuracy as to actually happening. The geiko he interviewed said it never happened, but others say it either did happen, or if it did, it was up to the okiya mistress.
