WHOA! What did I just read? I picked up this book for two reasons: the author and the cover. I didn't read the blurb because that's not my style. I judged the book's content on the look of the cover. I figured it would be a light-hearted, fun story about rich men hooking up with young gold digging women. Wow! I've only read one book by Sawyer Bennett and it was years ago. After reading Sugar Daddy, I'm going to change that PRONTO. I had no idea she wrote such freaking hot romance. Couple that with this having kind of a dirty talker and dual point of views, I simply devoured this book!

Sugar Daddy is the first in a trilogy so this book cannot be read as a standalone. And yes, it has a mutha of a cliffy. I detest cliffies but in no way do I regret picking this up. Sugar Dadd ...more

5 'captivating' stars

When I saw the cover of Sugar Daddy, I thought is going to be a fluffy read. I'm sure in for a great surprised indeed. The backstory of the heroine is nasty, the story came with a hint of suspense and revenge plot, but mostly in this first book, what we get is a lovely romance with a big cliffhanger! Watch out for it!

This was a quick easy read. The prologue immediately grabs you and you are rooting for Sela!! I know there's a disclaimer that it ends on a cliffie .......but I'm freaking dying here!!!!

Sela and Beck are just so adorable. I love them and I especially love Beck but I'm more than mad at him right now!!

Bring on August!! Can't wait to read more about these two.......and FUCK JT!! Complete scum!!!

Repeat.

What a dark and twisty story! I have to admit that I wasn't expecting a story with this type of content based on the title and the cover. It's a bit deceptive because what lurks underneath this pink and sparkly facade is a story that is anything but. Now I am not complaining. Sure, I expected something fun and sexy, and there are quite a few parts that are both of those things, but there is a lot of heartache at the heart of Sela's story. I normally shy away from stories in which the heroine was [spoiler]raped[/spoiler], not because it's a trigger, but there have been a few stories that have used that experience as a cheap way to make you sympathize for the heroine and invoke an emotional reaction. With Sela, you learn very early on what happened to her and it's impossible to not feel gutted for her. I will warn that it is a tad graphic and very uncomfortable to read about. But what evolves from that horrifying event is the catalyst for revenge the Sela is seeking.

I'm going to make Jonathon Townsend pay for what he did to me.

Of course, revenge isn't as simple as one would hope. And the snag in Sela's operation is the sexy Beckett North. Not only is he Jonanthon Townsend's (rapist/douchebag) partner, but he is also the man that Sela starts catching feelings for. As Sela and Beck's encounters progress, Sela starts personally growing and discovering things about herself that were mostly hidden under depression and a sense of self preservation. I truly found Sela's own personal arc throughout this story to be one that was organic and a natural progression. You especially see the way she starts changing once her relationship with Beck progresses.

I realized that intimacy is actually something that I could learn to crave with a man like Beckett North and that I've only just begun to discover the true potential inside of myself.

Overall, Sugar Daddy was a very thrilling read. I normally don't disclose if there is a cliffhanger but since it is stated in the synopsis, I will say that the cliffhanger is a doozy. I am personally a fan of them but I did yell some pretty naughty things at my kindle once I finished the last page. Thankfully, I have an arc of Sugar Rush already loaded on my kindle and ready to go, so I can't complain too much! I highly recommend this for anyone that loves a story with plenty of character development, sexy times, revenge, and fantastic writing. Sawyer Bennett is one of my favorite contemporary authors and she just keeps getting better.
