Some pics not for any contest, but just for fun. City Girl, Old Wise Warrior Man, and Checked Flannel and a Mug O' Liquid.
Well, Abbie, that depends. If we saw this picture with no commentary, what would we think she would be? That's the point of the contest---to convey in visual without having words as a supplement.
The next GDC#3 is NOW! Behold! The Fantasy Warrior!
That's right! Someone distinctly fantasy---urban, traditional, steampunk'd, any fantasy at all (but not sci-fi). It'd better be distinctly fantasy, like I mentioned, or else we won't be able to tell that it's someone who is actually fantastical. The rest of the requirements is as follows:
It should be a full-body shot: your picture MUST include the entire body, from head to toes. It can be any race, gender, whatever weapon you want, or hairstyle. Maybe it's a tiger warrior. Maybe it's the Rad Discotheque Afro'd Warrior. Maybe it's the Awesome Urban Fantasy Elf. Who knows! That's where your imagination comes in. Your warrior does not have to have a weapon, per say, as long as it's clear that they're a fighter (like Ryu). You MAY include a minion in your picture for them to actively beat up, and some backdrop is allowed. Just don't go overboard.
Adhere to the normal group rules: no excessive gore (a detriment to fantasy artists), no suggestive or sexual themes (also a detriment to fantasy artists), language, etc., and so on. Be kind to other's pics, and make it hand drawn. Any picture violating the rules and requirements---oh yes---will be taken down and excluded from the poll. Make sure to mention if you've included a reference.
The contest starts NOW and ends on 2/10/20---this upcoming Monday. Post the alerts and links to your entries in this thread, tell us in your description of the pic that its for the contest, if possible. Multiple entries per person are allowed.
*draws flaming sword* BEGIN!
No, go ahead and spread the word, Laura-Lee. And behold, your sharpened pencil has not been forgotten . . .
Don't worry about it. Worry about your self-confidence. That's probably the thing getting the most damaged. And, a reminder: the contest ends this Monday, so get those entries in if you have 'em!
Stay . . . positive . . . *heavy breathing* Now really, keep a good outlook. Anna is correct in implying that y'all are too negative about your art. Consider the effect is has on your psyche if you keep downgrading your skills.

No..."
I apologize, Monique . . . I explicitly said "no contours" so I'm going to have to remove it. If you can remove the face of your drawing and then re-post it, that would be great.
Well, not for a while. Unless it gets voted on the next poll. If I even PUT it in the next poll. I want to make each contests as different from the last one as possible.
This is the hallowed Hall . . . the place where the names of the winners of the competitions shall be engraved for eternity!
Well, the contest is open now! Remember when I said that if there was a tie twice, I would decide it? And I did. Hair.
The Second semi-semiannual Graphical Drawing Competition is underway! After a poll that tied twice in a row, I've had to be the deciding factor. So, with great aplomb, the subject . . . shall be . . .Hair.
(Sorry, scenery people)
For this contest, you can draw hair---any style or shape at all, be it beehive or pixie cut---in color or without. You MAY draw a head to help define the shape, but keep it like a mannequin: no expression or contours. This is a contest about hair and not faces, so faces may give one an advantage over the others.
As usual, no digital art, no backgrounds or scenery (yet) and definitely no faces. The drawing must not be on this group already, adhere to the group rules, etc. and so on. Please do try to take a clear picture of your entry, or else we won't be able to see it.
This contest begins now and ends on the 27th of January---a week from now. A poll shall then be held, with any posts that have not followed the rules will not be included in aforementioned poll.
And, of course, post a link or an alert about your entry in this thread. And, if possible, include a description of your drawing saying that it is for Drawing Competition #2. Any amount of entries per person are allowed.
BEGIN!
