97237 Hi Kate and others!
I read the "Book Thief" and enjoyed it but will not say I would pay for the movie. Movies are so expensive now a days!!
Yes I have a pile of books around my chair - books on my TBR pile and books just recently retriaved from the Library. I don't get much time anymore to just go to the Library and "browse" so I look at recommended books on this list, log onto the Library and then go pick them up when I get a email they are ready. I guess that just goes to show how "hectic" my life is now.

97237 Hi All! I have been in a bit of a "mood" lately and cannot seem to read as often as usual. I finally read "Absolute Power" by Balducci. It was a pretty good thriller and had lots of twists and turns!!
I am now reading Maeve Binchy's "A Week in Winter" - fiction/romance. I liked her writing back in the 70's and still like her writing!

97237 No Terry it was not. You know as I grow older my taste in reading changes. I have checked out "The Shining" to read also. I have this group and friends and Goodreads to thank for expanding my reading tastes! Thanks!!

97237 I am up to page 109 in "Dr Sleep" I am enjoying it . Sometimes I have to go back to the previous chapter to figure out whether they are talking about Dan or ?David and how the people with special powers relate to each other. I guess "Rubes" are regular people?

97237 Should I read the "shining?" First?

97237 Oh NO!! I would have killed the dog! ( not really just been awful mad). So what did you think of the book?

97237 Hello, I am new to this group but had seen reviews of Dr. Sleep so I downloaded it last night and started reading it. Years ago Kings books were too scary for me... we will see...

97237 I am now reading "The Circle" by Dave Eggers it is really good! It is fiction about a large company that developed software programs to track everything you do, buy and say. It promotes cameras located everywhere to see everything you do! Is this good for society or bad? While some may think this company a bit far fetched - I don't!! I worked for a company like this!! A real page turner!!

Ah yes! Hi Kate glad you are enjoying those books! I get in moods where I read thrillers and then I tire of them and want to read a love story or a book with no "blood and guts". Do you go thru reading spells like that?
