*squeee* You're thinking all the right stuff! Just remember that the series has two more books, so there's a good chance book three won't answer all your questions. :)

It feels so wrong to be happy for having made someone cry! But happy I am. :)

Brig and Helena's story is complicated - but you probably already guessed that. I can't wait!

I KNOW, right? I'm totally hung up on him as Brig now. *gives Chris high-five*

No, and yes. The poem at the start of both books talks about stories and themes being repeated - Brig's and Pressing's stories have something to do with that.

I'm really hoping it will be before the end of the year. I'm taking all of March off - I'm BEAT - but hopefully I'll be refreshed and able to rock it. :) I'll totally keep you in the loop as to how it's going!

YAAAY! I'm sooo glad that you're excited. Please feel free to pop into the Spoilers thread and conjecture away about what you think is coming. I may or may not confirm anything. *grin*

I wish I had a timeline to give you, but I'm just not solid yet. The rough draft is written, so it shouldn't be too long...hopefully!
BRIG vs. REIN (18 new)

*squeeeeeee* RHONDA, I'm so happy to see you here! Welcome!!

It sounds like we're all in agreement with the man/boy thing. Rein. Is. A. Man.

I'm so excited - and a little terrified - to have you guys see what's coming down the pipeline for Brig. *nervously chews lip* If you want more than that, mention it in the spoilers thread. I can go into a *little* more detail there. Not a lot, but a little. :)

96519 Chris wrote: "how did you find a good editor? Or did you?"

As far as content goes, I do the editing myself. I have great beta-readers who offer fabulous feedback, and I take what they say into account (although I don't live and die by it), but I do the actual editing on my own. It's not a stance I've taken out of any kind of weird pride thing or stubbornness - it's just what my budget allowed for. It's definitely tough, though - being as hard as you need to be on your own work in order to see its flaws (and then have the courage to fix them) can definitely leave me feeling battered and useless. And I'm sure I don't do it perfectly. I try, though.

In terms of copy, my sister has a pretty good eye and has edited both books for me. I'm wicked grateful for her help.

I wasn't going to say anything, but his second comment made me wonder if he'd just keep making snarky remarks, so I figured I'd stand my ground and then just delete the rest of his stuff.

My first troll! :/

Sheesh. Power writing.

96519 Stephen wrote: "Well, this is a barren source of amusement"

Sorry to disappoint, Stephen. I didn't answer your previous post because in all honesty, the question felt baited. A multiple choice question whose three possible answers are all controversial historical figures is the kind of thing folks who are jonesing to argue tend to pose. I'm not here for that kind of thing.

Also, the 'you're cute' comment made me feel a little uncomfortable, as did the partial nudity on your FB page.

This chat was created to give readers of Shrilugh and The Darkening a place to talk about the books, and ask questions about them that they'd like answered. If you'd like to participate in those conversations in a respectful manner, by all means, do. Otherwise, feel free to amuse yourself elsewhere.

Best,

I've never seen it. With four kids in the house, I very rarely get to watch TV, other than the occasional Netflix at night before I hit the sack. :) Thank goodness there are other folks that do, that can point guys like THIS out to me! *grins*
