93097 Christopher Kimball is great! I really miss him at Cook's Country.

93097 With many of us stuck close to home for the forseeable future, I imagine that there is a lot of cooking and baking going on to alleviate stress and provide some solace (those dishes, though!).

That being the case, I'm wondering if you have a favorite cookbook author? With the advent of celebrity chefs and the popularity of channels like Food Network, I think that people are much more familiar with the faces behind the recipes than they used to be. Around this library, popularity tends to gravitate toward the ladies: classic standbys like Julia Child, more modern pop culture favorites such as the Barefoot Contessa, Martha Stewart, and Paula Deen. Our Director is a huge fan of the Pioneer Woman, Ree Drummond, and I really enjoy the homestyle simplicity of Six Sisters Stuff.

Even if you don't have a favorite cook, you probably have a favorite cookbook, right? At home, I tend to use my Better Homes and Gardens and old church fundraiser cookbooks, but my personal favorites are The Mom 100 by Katie Workman and Asian Noodles by Maki Watanabe (both of which we have available here).

Let me know your thoughts, and keep an eye on our Facebook page for a forthcoming recipe exchange!

93097 It's that time of year (or, according to Walmart, it has been that time of year since September 1) ... what is everyone's favorite holiday read? Most readers have one, and it's always nice to find a new favorite to go with the season.

93097 Is twenty too many Stephanie Plums? The library has several members of the staff who are fans of Evanovich ... or used to be, anyway. Is it time for Stephanie to hang up her pepper spray, pick a man, and settle down like her mother wants?

93097 How did the new Leonardo DiCaprio movie compare to the book? Or do you have no interest in one or the other?
