It's been a long time since I posted in this group, but I thought some of you might be interested in my new eBook. You may have signed up to my eCourse some years ago, this eBook is an updated version of that, so lots of new content to go through.
Feel free to ask questions about it?

I have a question... how do people cope with bullets when formatting a book?
I assume that to make them look exactly how they should look you need to use html/css, is there any other way of doing it?
I have a potential new client who has a book where the bullet points are very important, I either need a way of doing them myself or find someone who can do this so I can pass on the details to him!
Thanks,
Jo

I have just converted two more files and they worked fine! :)

I don't use track changes Ian, but I'll keep an eye out for that. :)

The em dash is showing a a capital D with a line through it, and ... is showing as an E with an accent over it, completely confused why it's doing this now and not before.

Does anyone know what's causing this and how I can fix it? I haven't changed anything that could cause the problem.
I have tried importing Word doc and html, just about to change to plain quotes rather than curly to see if that works.
Any suggestions would be gratefully received. Just to say, the books I am trying to convert I have formatted in Word, reformatting in html (which I am sure would fix it) isn't possible, just don't have the time right now.
Thanks!

I just wanted to let you know I recently launch my eBook Marketing Mini-eCourse, it's free and for authors, and I know some of you might be interested. Here is the link - http://bit.ly/mini-ecourse
I would appreciate any feedback, good or bad!
Thanks,
Jo :)

I do my writing and editing in Word and then strip out all of Word's extraneous code using Notepad ++. Then I add formatting (bold, paragraphs, etc) with the help of Guid..."
I always reformat a novel from scratch as you never know what could be lurking underneath which may cause an issue in conversion. There are ways of using find/replace to pinpoint all the italics/bold etc... so it's very easy to put them all back again. I would rather spend time doing this than having to work out what the underlying problem could be after conversion...

I have had an enquiry today, someone looking for Kindle 8 formatting, as I'm yet to be able to to do this, I have directed them to this group and told them about the Formatting Services thread.
Maybe if others have enquiries they are unable to handle, they could do the same, it would be a good way of getting referrals.
Thanks,
Jo

I know basic HTML/CSS, but not how to use it for eBooks... I'm actually quite looking forward to getting started!
