
I've often heard the term "Indie publisher" applied not to so much to self-publishers, but instead to very small presses like Zeitgeist Press, the press that published my poetry chapbook The Underwater Hospital. It's essentially a two-person operation run out of Las Vegas and Berkeley. They've been going for over a decade and have a really great bunch of authors, and they are committed to producing their books VERY cheaply, at a price their readership can afford -- mostly $5 a book.
