I went with iUniverse with my first novel. They charge way too much and do nothing beyond distribution. If you're going to charge that much even for basic, around $500, then at least advertise our novels.

I use either Lulu or Createspace now, they seem a lot more legit and are much, much cheaper.

I prefer complete control over what I write and how I write. Plus, I'm just not patient enough to go the traditional route.
