I can’t think of a particular book but John Green (and now I can say his work, by extension) is especially overhyped. So is Colleen Hoover!

They’re both good writers and, imo, really know how to tell a story but after having read a lot of their work, I can safely say that at their respective foundations, it’s all the same. They dress up each novel differently (especially JG) but the characters have a tendency to meld into one after you’ve read a bunch of their stuff. Respective to each author ofc, not in comparison.

@Tiara - if we’d met like five years ago, I’d be totally offended that you think HP to be overhyped but I get where you’re coming from. Personally, it’s such a childhood staple for me that a part of me will always hold on to it. With that said, the franchise has been milked to death tbh.
