Would you take Villianous in lieu of villain? If so I'll be done with that book this weekend (along with the Runaway Jury)

JoJo if you enjoyed Legends and Lattes take a look at Bookshops and Bonedust which is a prequel to it.

Kelly hopefully your eyes get back to 100percent. Being close to well is sometimes the hardest thing.

My favorite tea is GenMaicha which is tea with toasted rice in it so it has a lot of warmth and is a bit heavy. Perfect for reading with.

I put Jayber Crow on hold at my library, looking to wind up the Port William Series and this will be a good push.

@Jojo I love the Port William series. I also really like Wendell Barry's essays. I might pick up Jayber Crow as a reverse.

Is anyone else having an issue with adding dates read to their books? I mark a book read and make sure it's on the UNO shelf. When I go to set the date I can't click on the box or the drop down to set the date for today. The only way I've been able to add dates is to go my uno shelf and edit it there. This is extra steps so I'm hoping someone can tell me a better way to do it.

I just finished The Rook which I thought was a lot of fun. I'll describe it as a thriller with tongue planted a bit on cheek.

I also read the third book in the The Final Empire series. Highly highly recommend it if you like good fantasy with worldbuilding and complex characters.

For the mini-would Southern work for directional?

I have favorite authors that I am slowly trying to make my way through their entire collections to mixed results. For some, I want to read all of one series they have but not another. For others, it's full on completionism. I think I'm close with Ursula Le Guin, Winston Churchill and Eric Larson. Plus closing in a half dozen others. I may not fully understand but when I find myself reading a book someone else has read and put on the spreadsheet, I just copy their entry changing it to my name and adding in the reverse details.

that's been on my TBR forever too. Once you read it I'll pick it up for the reverse.

I'm Jax from the NW corner of the USA. I think this is my fourth year doing UNO. I have done a lot of challenges and have seen some of your names but like Apoorv I don't think I've been on a team with any of you. I've got a couple of series I'm trying to finish with big chunky books (The Wheel of Time, Mistborn, Leviathan) so my reading stayed the same but books completed is running slow. And other then fantasy I enjoy non fiction, mysteries and thrillers.

My top 5 reads of 2023 were:
Carrie Soto Is Back (not a big Taylor Jenkins Reid fan but loved this one)
Magic and the Shinigami Detective (I suggest the whole series which is magic, time travel and mystery)
Killers of a Certain Age
Empire of Pain: The Secret History of the Sackler Dynasty
Demon Copperhead

I'm starting to plan out my February reading and have already added a few books people have suggested in this thread to my list.

One of the things I like to track is referral. I use that in conjunction with a rating of books (simple 1-5 scale) so I can see the average for each referral. May not make sense for everyone, but between podcasts, articles, blogs, GoodReads and friends I find it helps to see who does the best at suggesting things I like.

Lessons in Chemistry and Final Empire are probably 2 of my top ones this year!

I think the two Wheel of Time books and the Final Empire were my favorites.

Thanks for the suggestion. Funnily, I realized how many series I had started and then lost track of that I put together a table at the bottom of my TBR list showing the series, which book I'm on and how long it is so that when I'm looking for books for challenges I can also make progress on them.

Funnily Tomorrow, and Tomorrow and Tomorrow just showed up for me too. Too bad we don't get anything extra for a buddy read.

@Melissa I read The Leviathan Wakes and meant to pick up the series then...forgot. Thanks for the reminder that I should put it on my TBR. If I don't write it down I don't remember.

@Tammie +1 for Firekeeper's Daughter. Was surprised how much I liked it.

My recc for the last two weeks is Magic and the Shinigami Detective. I'd say tongue in cheek detective alternate world something story.

I put an X to the left of the color cards to show which have been used for wild draw 4. Hopefully that helps us find the rest.
