88432 If this works, I could read for blue 8. It's an Audible original. 3 hours 34 minutes. MC is Eliot.

On a Night Like This (Winter Nights #3) by Liz Maverick

I also have a black cover book to pick up from the library on Monday.

88432 I am spending much of the day flying on Thursday, so hoping to wrap up one or two books tomorrow and may start on The Clinic next. It is set in a rehab clinic, so I feel like there's a lot of potential there.

How does "Genghis Khan Unplanned Detour" sound?? 🤭"

Love it!

88432 Elements of Murder Road for potential cocktail inventions:

-There's a character obsessed with Princess Diana
-The main characters are on their honeymoon
-There's a beach/party area for backpackers and drifters called Hunter Beach
-"The Lost Girl" (🚫 spoilers)
- you could also do something with "unplanned detour"

I just finished Murder Road, too! I'll wait until tomorrow to review. Goodnight everyone!

88432 Here's a thought, but I don't want to complicate things...

I am supposed to read The Senator's Wife for the mini task "white writing on cover." It does have a lot of people wearing tuxedos to a white house dinner in one of the main scenes. If you think white writing is easier to find, we could switch it to the tuxedo task.

88432 I haven't been on as much the last 4 days or so. We took a quick trip while the kids were on school break. I'll try to catch up today and really look at the mini. I found two obvious fits after Mel posted it, but haven't really looked since then. Hope everyone is having a nice March so far!

Has anyone come across a book that may feature an amusement park?

Thanks. 😊"

Joyland by Stephen King is set in an amusement park. More mystery/thriller than horror.

Update: I just saw Chrissie recommended the same!

Another update: I also thought of this one. It won't matter that it's book #4. The author did a romance set in each season. They don't really build on each other.

88432 I just read Amelia's Shadow to keep myself out of my two ongoing books. It was ok. Almost too short.

I think it was me, Elinor! I read book 1 a year or two ago, and keep meaning to pick up book 2. I haven't done it yet. I'm glad you enjoyed the series!

It was so crazy how many of them there were. I was enjoying the book, but it was really suspenseful. Too suspenseful for that day. I'll come back to it though.

That's a tough cover. It looks like maybe a little more of the blue color?

88432 I started listening to Dead of Winter on my long drive last weekend and I think it jinxed me. When I left my house, it was warm and sunny and a few hours north it started snowing. And apparently pheasants are very active right now?? I saw several dozen of them. Which is several dozen more than I have seen in the past five years of driving around the midwest. 😂 I ended up switching to music. 🫤

Thank you! I'll be sure to read those this month.

88432 Melinda, are you feeling better?
Feb 24, 2024 04:54AM

88432 I have some red books! I could do either or both of these...
We Used To Live Here by Daniel Hurst should work for 3 or 6.

Crying in H Mart by Michelle Zauner for Zero.

Sorry, today was crazy. I'll update now.
Edited to add: I was thinking I signed up for black text on cover, too, but it looks like I didn't. The Heaven and Earth Grocery store is on the main spreadsheet and it's done if we end up needing it. I probably said I would read it and then forgot to put it on the ss. Consider it an emergency backup. :)
