88432 So it didn't really seem like we made a firm decision. Should we just say Cities for the mini?

I've been linking but not sure if it's required, I'll let Tammie answer that one.

I see you've already read it, but it looks like you liked it a lot if you like rereads The Rosie Project probably fits what you're looking for.

My red2 can also be moved to red5 if you find a book that fits for 2 instead

Not sure if this has been asked before, but can we use the same book for multiple tasks?"

Nope only one book per task, but you can use it for a task and for a regular UNO book.

88432 Thank you for the kudos Tammie but before we all think I can do a lot of cool things I just copied the spreadsheet from the main one 🤣 🤣

88432 I don't know what everyone's preference is but if we do Small Towns I can read Unspoken (The Lynburn Legacy, #1) by Sarah Rees Brennan which has a red cover and is on the small towns list and hope that it also has a significant enough character for the Red 5 (or Red 2 since I can move that one to 5 as well). It's been a while since I read it, but I do know the MC and the Love interest both have good size families who play significant roles so could end up working.

88432 You can also look at the information in the announcement thread (please make sure you're following that!) if it's easier for you to see it all there than the spreadsheet: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

88432 FEBRUARY MINI HAS BEEN ANNOUNCED
description

LINK to our WWSS Mini tab ->https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/...
COUNTDOWN to the start of the mini -> https://www.timeanddate.com/countdown...
❤️ Books read for the mini can count for regular UNO...so if you have books you are currently reading...start with those...claim the spots that you know will work for books you are already reading! Books need to be finished after the start of this mini challenge on Feb 14, 9am UTC …. See countdown timer above
💜 ...aside from the note above, for our first few days of the mini, claim for books you'll read in this first week, just to allow everyone to find something they'll love. After a few days…go ahead and claim anything you will FOR SURE read by 2/28
💛 Questions...ask here 1st, if your mods don't know the answer, we'll find out
💙 One of the sections for this mini gives our team a choice for ‘city’ or ‘small town’ tasks. Which do you prefer. List your vote in our thread and indicate if you have possible books for these tasks.
💚 I’ll encourage everyone to zero in on the tougher tasks first…ie reading from specific lists

Do you know off the top of your head, what's the policy on re-reads for this challenge?"

If I remember correctly it just has to have been read over 6 months ago. I'll go hunting to double check though

ETA: Yup. From signups "Re-reads are ok provided it has been more than 6 months since last read"
Feb 09, 2022 01:42PM

88432 So tomorrow I'm gonna start migrating finished books over to our actual spreadsheet. If you see the "ON SS" box on the WSS checked, please make sure you make a note here before moving around!

This is how all the readers in my life are too! I did get my SIL to read The House in the Cerulean Sea with her book club and she loved it, but that's pretty romance light. I've tried reading non romance books but the whole time I'm still looking for hidden relationships that I hope pans out LOL

88432 How's everyone doing?? Just a reminder to put your books on your UNO shelf, most are but there are some missing (Including me lol). I honestly just can't wait for the mini lol
Feb 02, 2022 04:50PM

88432 Yes to the snow! We're supposed to get 8-12 inches by tomorrow.

But I agree it has made for good reading weather, already started another series I know I'll be obsessed with (thanks Trio for saying how great North & Shaw were lol) so UNO has already probably made my TBR longer rather than shorter lol.

YES! Shaw and North popped up in an H&S book and I already fell in love with them. I plan on it as soon as I finish the H&S (and have less required books to read for challenges lol)

I'll wait then since our Blue cards are filled and if it fits for a blue next month ask the captains group.
Jan 31, 2022 07:34PM

88432 I've claimed some colored cards, but probably wont get to them until later in the month so if anyone reads something else that fits let me know and I'll save them for later months.

Ugh I'm so upset at both Bachelor and my spell word for not working so I can read more Hazard and Somerset. I finished the first series, but got 3 books into the second wave of them and had to put it down. It was my first Gregory Ashe but definitely wont be the last. And I think Tristan James narrating is perfection!!

And It looks like you have it right on the spreasheet to me!

Taste My Life through Food by Stanley Tucci from my library, and I'd love to listen to it asap!!"

I'm pretty sure nonfiction books are fine (Tammie might know better) but you're more limited on what you can use. From the q&A

"What's the rules with non fiction Books? Can the real life people of history say be used as "characters" and the same with locations used as "settings"?
Not for the majority of non fiction books, (it opens the doors to books that have a zillion royals listed for example), unless of course the non fiction book is something like "Eat Pray Love" which is told like a novel with limited characters"
