88432 Do German words count as well if I run across one? I am probably going to finish my audiobook this week but well...it is in German as it is a German author ;)

It was a bit odd and honestly a little too far out there at times, but definitely a good read. :)" You are not alone. I am still "working" on my first completion. Hopefully I will be done with my first book at the weekend. I only have time to read at night a bit or to listen to my audiobook on the way to work.

88432 So I just finished Knife of Dreams (Wheel of Time, #11) by Robert Jordan and will start with The Gathering Storm (Wheel of Time, #12) by Robert Jordan in two days. Hopefully I will be able to finish it in a month but otherwise I will put in a shorter book as well. There are a few on my kindle ;). I will add them to the planning spreatsheet at the weekend. It was just to busy the last two weeks at work but it is already toning down so more time to read in the evenings :)

Btw I started WoT back in the 90ties but as it was unfinished and the time between the books was just too long ( I also read it in German and this was probably the reason it took even longer...) and I kind of lost the overview (same with GoT currently.....). But I am really enjoying it now! With other books I had the experience that I did not like them that much as a "grown up" but with WoT it is differnt.

88432 Hi everyone,

I am Ava from Munich/Bavaria (Germany). When I am not reading I am a full time working mom with a cute little toddler :). This will be my third time playing uno (I think....) and I always enjoyed it a lot. Currently I am reading The Complete Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan and have been doing so for about a year now with some other books in between. Generally I am a random reader but I love to hunt for books that match a special card at UNO games and found a few that I really enjoyed and would not have read otherwise!

88432 I might not be able to finish my book on time 🙁.

The little guy had his vaccination this week and another growth spurt and needs a lot of comfort right now (.....but he started to grab stuff...I am so proud of him 😊). It is amazing and fascinating to see all the stuff he is learning over such a short period of time!

About spring time coming...last year we had snow ❄️ At the end of April...

88432 I decided on reading Small Great Things by Jodi Picoult for #35.

Hopefully the little guy likes hanging around in the park for his afternoon nap with his mom reading a book ;). Springtime almost feels like summer this year! :D

88432 I finished Das Buch der Sinne by Lara Steel today. It works for:
0: stand alone
6: A: steel

For the mini challenge I could read another book from Poppy J. Anderson which would cover 35 or 56. :)

88432 And I started reading Das Buch der Sinne by Lara Steel yesterday. It should work for the mini challenge for the numbers:

28. set in a country you do not live in => set in Dublin, Ireland
40. with a newspaper or book on the cover => book on the cover ;)

88432 I finished Vier Hochzeiten und ein Ex (Just married, #1) by Poppy J. Anderson a few days ago. It works for:

1: First in series
3: C: Harper
6: Place: Scotland
7: Title: Vier....
Skip: Author: Poppy J. Anderson

Did not like it that much. Her books used to be a fun and easy read but now they are kind of lame and too similar to her other books :/

I actually discovered audiobooks two years ago when I was training for a half marathon...nothing better to get through long runs :). For walking with a stroller they are great as well :D

88432 Just finished Schwarzwasser (Wallner & Kreuthner, #7) by Andreas Föhr . I should be able to finish listening to Rollmopskommando by Krischan Koch if I start today on my walks with the little guy. It would cover a R :)

88432 Suzanne wrote: "Learning is always good. But it sounds like the book would have been more effective if it had settled on how it wanted to tell the story."

Exactly. This way it was kind of annoying in my opinion.

Today I finished listening to Mordseekrabben by Krischan Koch . Nothing too serious but fun to listen to (the narrator of the audiobook is amazing!)

In the spreadsheet the red 2 is still open. I will finish Schwarzwasser (Wallner & Kreuthner, #7) by Andreas Föhr until the end of march which is in my opinion red and has a character named Tina so it would work. But tineye says that one color is orange? Could we check this?

88432 Suzanne wrote: "I've wondered about that book. Have you seen the movie? I'm wondering how they compare."

The movie is great but completly different. It just focuses on the story of the three women. The book on the other hand could not decide to be a novel, a biography or a historical book. Nonetheless it was an interesting read and I learned a lot about the issues african americans have been and still are facing in the US but also about the progress that has been made in the past.

88432 Just finished Listening to Hidden Figures The American Dream and the Untold Story of the Black Women Mathematicians Who Helped Win the Space Race by Margot Lee Shetterly Which I found to be interesting but also disappointing and Undecided. It’s like the author couldn’t decide what kind of book she wanted to write.
