Hi Laura!
That one looks interesting :)

I think it will also fit
0- Stand alone book.

Are there any characters in the book? Or is the book set in a city/country?

And YES! That is definitely red. I think we only have one Red card for February and it's an 8... Any E's in that book? lol

Hi Michele! And welcome to team Musca!

I'm going to ask that you take a few minutes and read through our thread. We have discussed details about how to go about reading and posting and it's fairly clear. Also go look at our team spreadsheet for clarification. Then if you have any specific questions bring it on!

Basically read a book, then post which cards it might fit. Captain and co-captains will arrange where they go. (more details in the thread)
Also, please go back to page 1. Our captain Sarah was very thorough in posting rules and such.
Thanks!

***Keep in mind.. no books started before today can count towards UNO.

88432 Yes, they can be deceiving . And if you are ever questioning the color tool, sometimes we can over rule it. Just bring it to either captain Sarah or one of us Co-captains.

88432 Currently I'm reading
Fallen (Fallen, #1) by Lauren Kate
(which won't count for UNO)
Here are my results in a link:

Basically it is 98% Blue

What’s the way to verify the color of a book cover?"

The info is in Sarah's second message in the beginning of our thread. She has a highlighted link to Color Tool. It's a website called Tineye.com .... https://labs.tineye.com/color/

I usually open a second window and then drag the cover image over to the page. Then make sure you unclick Exclude background color. And it will give you the percentage of colors in the image.

You can do it from your phone too. Just screenshot the cover image. Open tineye in safari and download it from your photo library.

Sorry , if this is too detailed. I'm not sure how tech savy you are and want to make sure i'm clear ;)

I'll be around tonight and tomorrow if you need help !

88432 I do the same thing Sarah! Except my problem is that I’ve usually found the book elsewhere by the time it comes up, and I don’t need it anymore :/ I like having both the audiobook and ebook , so sometimes I finish before I get the other version. I’m a bit of a book brat... must have it in all formats at all times!

Welcome Mel! Glad you could join us. I've played once before and I can promise you will pick it up real quick.

To start with I recommend you pick a book that could fit several "cards". BUT it is only used for one card.
Here's an example:

Book: The Gold-Son by Carrie Anne Noble The Gold-Son
by Carrie Anne Noble
Main Characters: Tommin, Lorcan Reilly, Eve

This book fits the following cards...
0 ~ It's a stand alone book (not in a series)
2~ MC name is Tommin AND Title starts with T
5~ Set in Ireland
8~ MC named Eve
9~ Author's name Noble
Colored card~Green , checked on tineye color tool, it's 80% green

When you finished reading a book, you can post all of the cards it could fit. The Capts/Co-capts will place it on our spreadsheet under the card that is most needed.

Any other questions welcome!

88432 Please don't worry about finishing hands at this point. We shouldn't have any problems finishing cards. In my previous experience we always filled the cards. There is no benefit to skip a hand. Unless someone has another opinion...

Worst case scenario I read ANYTHING and WILL find a book to fit a card. It makes my day to find the perfect book ;D

For now, focus on the cards that Leah posted and find books that will fit.
This challenge is very flexible and will be LOTS OF FUN! I promise :D

88432 All the cards that Leah posted are our Hand 1. The cards Do Not need to be completed in any order. We have to finish this hand before we can get a Second Hand.

As far as deciding who reads for which card Leah has made a spreadsheet and will be sharing that with everyone soon :)
