Hello Happy People,

I am taking over from Donna and trying to figure out what happened.

I think part of the confusion is that people are expected to check in weekly. If you do not check in, one of our job as captains is to check how you are doing. We will usually do that both on the thread and by message as some people check one more than the other. This week, we checked in with two people. Come by say hi and that you are still playing and we are good. Also, give us a sense if you are going to be deeply under your expected number.

Second, we are a little past 1/3 of the month and we have read 26 books. That is only 75 books this month if we continue at this rate. So, I will likely shift towards different books than if we were ahead. It helps with planning if people tell us where they are.

Lastly, I am trying to not step on any toes here, but if someone has an issue, message us. Right now, please message me for this concern, thank you

Do you know if she has been reading? She is signed up for 9 books a month and we would need to plan accordingly.

Great to hear from everyone. My last four books have been fairly average so hoping for a better one tonight.

How is everyone doing? I have started a bunch of books and need to focus on finishing them. Otherwise, has anyone read any esp good books or unexpectedly bad ones?

I’ve got two wildcards including the one blue one I claimed.

Just checking in with everyone as we have 12 hours to go. Hope everyone is excited and feel free to ask if you have any questions. Just FYI, books cannot be started before ~12 hours from now.

Great, but if you want to read longer books, I do not worry about us getting them all done.

Welcome Anna and Ana. Nothing has started yet so you are both good. We start Feb 1 and no book may be started before then.

Donna posted the important information at the top of the thread on the first page and feel free to claim a color card. Otherwise, we are using a SS (here) to post books so the captains can move them around. If you do not read a book in English, you can use the title and character names in the version you read.

It would work for 0 yellow but would need a H character or H Place to work for the 3.

Street is defined as ‘a public road in a city or town, typically with houses and buildings on one or both sides.’ You have buildings. I think it is fine.

I bailed on my first word starts with the letter T book. I found another one but if someone else reads one randomly, feel free to replace mine.

Judith, you have read half of this min-challenge. Would you like me to go find a prom book? I only have one other one I signed up to do and my two colors.

Judith, I moved your runaway book into runaway and moved my book to U for the title. This means we only need a prom book. I DNF'ed my first ring book but am now reading a book I love. I will get to the colors this weekend.

I have three color cards left and should be able to get all three but may change the books for them around if I change what I feel like reading. Waiting on the library for the two greens.
