50x66 I have signed up for 4 books in German. After the first one, I may increase it to 6 or so.

As for French and Italian, I could include 12 for each - one a month.

I have already read one of each - L'exposition and Novecento. Un monologo, although I will read the latter one again - I have been traveling and left my iPad at home - finishing the book in my handheld - not optimal. Besides, I am reading it mostly to improve my Italian - rereading is an excellent thing to do.

As for Russian - I have ordered a bilingual edition of short stories - I don't have it yet. If I think I can handle it already I shall include it. I am at a very elementary level.

Hello, yes, sorry for replying late to this, but as Berengaria says, I am a native Spanish speaker. Any questions are welcome (although it is always difficult to consider one's language from a foreign point of view...
:)
50x66 Now I am currently reading Essays Two: On Proust, Translation, Foreign Languages, and the City of Arles, which will appeal to people in this group.
50x66 Thank you to Berengaria for inviting me to this group.

My mother tongue is Spanish but I chose to function in GR in English. Most of my reading is in English, but I read a fair amount in French and more and more in Italian.

I think my challenge will be to read 4 in German, since I have left this language on the side for too long.

I can read Portuguese easily but because of starting with Italian, my Portuguese has been put to sleep for a while.

Recently I began learning Russian but my knowledge will remain in textbook territory for a while. I have though a wonderful bilingual edition of Eugenio Oneguin - Russian and Spanish.
