50x66 Rod and Berengaria, The story was good. It was about a guy (painter) living in a haunted house on the beach. He wants to buy the house. A neighbor tells him about how it became haunted when a large number of local fisherman were killed in a bad storm. She told him the story during a storm, of course, and she disappeared when the power went out :)
I looked up the words as I went and then reviewed them again in the grammar summary at the end. I should review them again every now and then.
50x66 Well, I've finished my first Foreign Language goal book, Spanish novel for upper-beginners (A2): Enigma en la playa. Downloadable Audio . Vol.8. Spanish Edition.: Learn Spanish. Improve Spanish Reading. Graded reading. Aprender español. Lecturas graduadas..
It was a good challenge for me. I ended up needing to look up a fair amount of words and phrases.
It was a little disappointing in that the story was less than half the book. The remainder was review of the grammar used in the book. Even though the grammar review was good, I was looking forward to more of the story, lol.
Now I need to look for another A2 level Spanish reader. That's about the right level for me right now.

Any questions, Dave,..."

Thanks Kalliope, I appreciate that. I'm doing good so far. Between my memory of the language, online translators and the summaries at the end of each chapter, I'm getting there.
There will definitely need to be reread of the book too.

Thanks! I'm sure I'll enjoy it. I took college Spanish but that was many years ago. I'll see how much I remember by trying an A2 level.

I’m about to start my first foreign language book ever. It’s A2-B1 levels in Swedish/svenska. Wish me luck!

Good luck and have fun!

50x66 Hi Berengaria,

This sounds interesting and I'd like to give it a try even though I am far from fluent in any other language.
