Finished! (view spoiler)[ Wow! I changed my mind about who’s side I was on sooo many times in this book! At first I didn’t like Seth for reasons I stated in a previous post. Then for a while I thought Seth was the somewhat innocent party who was dealing as best he could with the fact that his wife had become mentally ill due to her miscarriage that took place. But as the plot unraveled it became clear that Seth was a manipulative, money grabbing, cheater. I loved the amount of Karma in this story. As harsh as it sounds I do feel that Seth’s Karma of ending up in a wheel chair for the rest of his life was somewhat deserved. As the book said, his days of cheating and violence are now over. I do feel sorry that Thursday ended up in a mental home but again I can’t help but feel that in a way she got her Karma, she did get involved with a married man who belonged to someone else. (Always ends in tears!) The person I mostly feel sorry for is Hannah who due to her naivety, has ended up with this monster, (hide spoiler)] Overall I very much enjoyed this book and felt I could really connect with the characters. Will be recommending this book to friends.

Page 242 (view spoiler)[ So I have come to the conclusion that poor Thursday is mentally unwell, the question is... how unwell? I just feel so so sorry for her!! I just cant imagine what it must be like to have everything in your life that you believe to be true suddenly proved to you bit by bit that is not what you thought it was. I am at the part where she is waiting to go into her meeting with Regina, and not only from her description is Thursday not exactly looking her best due to her staying in an old, abandoned house the night before but she is now drunk due to deciding to kill time in a bar while waiting for her appointment with Regina... I am so appreciative of how this meeting is going to go that I can hardly read on!! 🙈 (hide spoiler)]

Page 162 (view spoiler)[ So where I thought Thursday had found the wrong Regina, it seems she has found the wrong Hannah?? (Unless Seth has done some quick thinking on the spot about him picking up the doctors receipt of the lady in front of him in the queue.) I must admit when Seth asked Thursday if she had been taken her mental health medication, I did roll my eyes a bit, the reason being that I feel this plot twist has been used in sooooo many books. Where you then wonder if a character is mentally ill or just being made out to be buy the villain. BUT as I am only half way through the book so I figure that there is still soooo many more twists and turns to enjoy!! (hide spoiler)]

Page 111 (view spoiler)[ So Regina has just told “Will” that she does want kids... right now I can only think of three things that could be happening here 1) For some reason Regina is lying to “Will” or 2) Seth is lying to Thursday about Regina not wanting kids or 3) Regina does want kids just not with Seth... hmmm, and yes I get what you mean Dana about it would be nice for some parts to be written from the points of view of the other wives. And very interesting theory about Seth having an affair with Hannah while he was married to Regina, but wouldn’t that picture have been deleted? I certainly would have deleted it! I have just thought of a forth reason why Regina may have told “Will” she wants kids... could Thursday possibly have found the wrong Regina? Yes would be a massive coincidence but all Thursday had to go by was a first name, a job and a county. Absolutely no idea of what she looked like. Could she have contacted the complete wrong woman? And has found a woman who is genuinely single and wants kids? I must get to the bottom of this! (hide spoiler)]

Page 89 (view spoiler)[ So...Thursday has just found the photo of Regina and Hannah together online! I must say that this has got me stumped!! I did not see this coming, and at the moment I have absolutely no prediction of what this could mean!?!? Love it when this happens!! Lol (hide spoiler)]

So I am up to page 25 (view spoiler)[ My first thoughts on this book: It is already driving me crazy how much Thursday is completely obsessed with competing with the other two wives, and how she is constantly worrying if she is good enough for Seth. In my opinion this can not be happiness, In fact talking about your husband who you very much love, getting excited about the arrival of a baby he made with someone else must be absolute torture! It’s enough to make someone ill. Really hope she sees that there is so much more to life than looking perfect for Seth, cooking the perfect dinners for Seth, feeling the need to hide her love of coca-cola incase she is judged by Seth. What makes it worse is in these 25 pages Seth has not shown one sign of worrying about what Thursday thinks of him and his ways. The effort and care for this marriage seems to be very one way at the moment. I am really looking forward to seeing some changes around here (hopefully!) Come on Thursday wake up and smell the coffee!!! (hide spoiler)]

JULY: HAD A MONTH OFF.

Me too! It’s going to be so great to do a group read with you guys again! And from what I have read about “the wives” it’s very action packed and will be lots of things to discuss along the way. I know I have not yet made an August discussion thread for this book yet but I plan to create this later on today, or very latest tomorrow. Have a lovely day everyone!
