Re-reading some of the stories from Return of the Sword. Enjoyed Jeff Draper's and Nicholas Ian Hawkins' stories very much.

Okay, thanks. Knowing my story, it actually fits within that world, but I think I know what you are saying. Appreciate your feeback!

I too have a newsletter (full disclosure: only 200 subscribers) - but I can cross promote your newsletters and/or books in exchange for a mention in yours, for sure. Sign up here and message me with your sign-up site or email address and we'll chat! Thanks!

My first fantasy novel, "The Sword of Otrim," is coming out this summer. I wonder what you think of this blurb? Gentle feedback welcome. Thanks!
THE SWORD OF OTRIM
Fighting the barbarian hordes for Queen Philipa of Idessa, Otrim—a fierce yet contemplative warrior— hadn’t considered that his true enemy might be closer than he suspects. Completing the campaign against the Korreti infidels and returning home victorious is his ultimate goal. When he is challenged on the battlefield, the bronzed warrior must quickly determine where his ultimate loyalty lies.
The Sword of Otrim is an epic fantasy in five episodes. With every tale, the story unfolds until Otrim, at last, points his warhorse home. Will he stand before the Queen he serves a hero or rogue? And what of the fate of his two closest friends? Will those who live by the sword, die by it as well?

An indie writer friend of mine, L.S. King, has four sword & planet books. I've read the first and the prequel (her latest published, tho). Premise is an advance society's planet is dying and a remnant is ushered through a portal to a more simpler time (thus the sword and fantasy jibe within a science fiction framework). Worth a look, I think. Anyone else hear of these (Sword's Edge Chronicles):

My barbarian is Otrim - a contemplative warrior who follows the teachings of the Master (so I'll probably be marketing my novel toward the Christian fantasy sector, although I wouldn't call it Christian fantasy, per se - just an epic fantasy with a contemplative barbarian as an MC! ;-)
Otrim is an outsider, to be sure. I'd be interested in what some of you more experienced "Clonan" readers might think of him. Would be happy to send a sample story. Helpful and gentle critique welcome, of course, lol.

Kansas here. The hotbed of sword and sorcery. ;)

Currently reading a western, Avenging Angels: The Wine of Vengeance by a writer friend writing under Wolfpack Publishing's house brand, A.W. Hart. Half way through and it's pretty good!

Lyndon Perry here. I write in a variety of genres - mostly speculative (magical cat cozies! lol) but am working on finishing an epic fantasy/S&S novel. I've been on GR for quite some time, just not too involved in the discussions. Familiar on FB with the Rogue Blades group too. I think the last S&S novel I read was a Kothar book. Have also enjoyed Moorcock. Friend me anytime here on GR.
