Most boards I am a part of are sporadic at best, but I do read all the posts that go up in the groups I am a part of, and occasionally feel inclined to give a response.
Ignorant is easy to fix. Go read something by Robert E Howard, and you will be on your way past ignorance on this topic.
Yes, if you click on the little customize gear, you will get some choices. No more mommy fantasy porn drivel if you do that....unless...your friends are actually into mommy fantasy porn drivel...
We might just have to call this Mary's thread. Mary, I could not read that many books that quickly if I wanted to. You rock.
I was reading the Sword of Kaigen, but...I fear I am not ready for it. I think I am going to put it on hold and go back to book 3 of the Pakksenarion series.I finished writing my current book 4, so I will have some time ;)
I wonder how it holds up today. Given that so many years have passed, has it fallen behind to the Chicago manual of style, or some other authoritative work. I tend to like to old fashioned, but would it be a great source for style in todays world. I dont know.
Strunk and White is an exciting one. I read that one way back when, and would still refer to it if I had a question of style (but, I've not looked at it in a very long while). Are you planning on writing something?I don't often read graphic novels anymore, but some I have read were top notch stories. I'd include them if I did. Secretly, I would like to see a graphic novel of my book but....its far down the road, if ever.
Closing in on the end of Divided Allegiance. Maybe today or this weekend.
I'm a slow reader, so I wont hit this very often.Finished Forged in Gold and Pride and Predujice, currently working on Divided Allegiance and The Sword of Kaigen

Hi All,I am expanding and playing around a bit with Amazon's tools. Really, I am looking for readers because, if you don't know, books that have less the 25 ratings and reviews are very hard to get off the ground.
As a result, I am offering my book for free on Kindle, this Sunday, the 29th.
My Book, The Eye of Ebon is a story about faith and trust in a rough world. It is a fantasy adventure that features two women navigating in a harsh land and with many enemies trying to stop them. Both women face difficult ordeals and wrestle with issues of trust, duty, honor, anger and of course..faith.
For those familiar with the many books posted on this group, I think this book is most similar to the Deed of Paksenarion. If you are a fan of that story, I think you will enjoy this one as well.
The Blurb is below
A young Samiare lies dying in the snow, in her hand, a sword of legend, and now the whole world is changed. For Ruegette, hero of Tierinor, the girl marks the earliest stages of a new war against the Shadow, and a new struggle to keep safe what has been hidden for more than an age--The Eye of Ebon.
Pulled into a conflict greater than nations and Gods, both Ruegette, and the girl she rescues, try to survive in a land full of threats against brutal foes that will show them no mercy. Can Samiare find the strength to overcome her torments, and can the White Sword be enough to push back the dark? --Or will a sinister creature reclaim its prize...
The Shadow is rising...
...It seeks back its eye...
...It won't be stopped.
If you don't have a kindle, but would still like a free copy, please send me a PM.
Otherwise, it will be available this Sunday.
Thanks

I think Watership Down is my favorite book....If its not, its up there near the top.I recommend it a lot but I don't think I win it any sales.
Currently reading three books....
Empire: Country: Empire
Forged in Gold
Pride and Predujice
The first two are for friends trying to get some reviews on their books. but last is an audio version of the book.
More sad news, the passing of James Earl Jones, the voice of Darth Vader, and the man behind Thulsa Doom.He had such a great voice. Very sad to not have him with us anymore.
Howdy all,I am Patrick, but my author handle is P. Pherson. I am writer and have been writing for about 30 years. In all that time, I have published some, but never made it a priority. I grew up with Howard's Conan and Kull (I prefer Kull, and think By this Axe I rule is his best story), as well as Moorcock's Elric, and Tolkien of course.
In my own writing, I feel my voice is most similar to that of howard, but I would not really call myself Swords and Sorcery as defined here, but more Epic Fantasy.
Still, I enjoy the whole genre and love being in the Fantasy sphere.
Happy to meet everyone and hope we can enjoy this medium together.
If you come to know and like my stuff, please follow.
Thanks
