Those war of the wizards trilogy I was never able to track down. Pre Internet book buying was so slow. Makes it so much easier now a days and has been stated above you can spend a lot very quickly.

the 40k/warhammer novels i have read are no way near grimdark to be called that. compared with the authors mentioned in the above posts they are tame affairs.

Casca are worth reading. But can be hard to find and expensive in book form. I am waiting for more of the new ones to come out.
As fantasy film, it is worth watching.
One I must recomend is the pigeons from hell short story as one of the horror shorts.
