I had long been fascinated with the idea of a Muse, this unseen being that could choose to inspire us or the idea that a person in our lives could be our Muse and inspire our actions and creativity. It was such and interesting and unexplored idea that had never been done before. I also wanted to write a story where my supernatural creatures help (but still have the ability to hurt) people. So many Urban Fantasy series these days have are dark with not much light. I wanted to write one with more balance and this seemed like a good way to do it.
